APPLE VALLEY, Minn. (WCCO) – The Minnesota Zoo has debuted a new webcam to show off their two recently-hatched male African penguin chicks.
According to zoo officials, one chick hatched on March 2 and the other followed 19 days later. African penguins are endangered, so these new additions to the 3M Penguins of the African Coast exhibit are a big achievement for the zoo.
While the penguins are not currently featured in the exhibit, people can watch their progress via webcam, which will be available to view during daylight hours – roughly 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. The webcam viewing hours will increase as summer approaches.
