Texas A&M’s Damontre Moore Now A Giant

HOUSTON (CBS Houston) - The third Aggie drafted in the 2013 NFL Draft is headed for the Big Apple.  The New York Giants selected defensive end Damontre Moore, 6-4 and 250 pounds, in the third round with the 81st overall pick.

As a junior at Texas A&M, Moore recorded 12 1/2 sacks and earned all-SEC first team honors in the school’s inaugural season in the SEC conference.  He was backup to Vonn Miller, the second-overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft.  Moore played a combination of outside linebacker and defensive end as a sophomore. He converted to a  standing defensive end during his junior year under the new head coach Kevin Sumlin.  Moore finished his three-year career in College Station with 116 tackles and 26 1/2 sacks, ranking ninth in the FBS last season with .96 sacks per game.
